Description
Chicken pounded accompanied by noodles. A traditional food for maracles. It can be accompanied by a wine, preferably Nemea red wine.
Materials that we will need:
1 rooster 2-3 kg
1 wine glass of olive oil
1 glass of Nemea red wine
2 large tomatoes, chopped or 1/3 of a box of Pumaros
1 spoonful of tomato paste
5 small stewed onions or 2 large ones cut into quarters
salt and pepper
8 cloves of garlic
1 laurel leaf
5 spice balls
500 gr. Chylopites
How do we do it:
Clean, sear and wash the rooster. Cut it into portions, season with salt and pepper and put the pieces in the pot with the wine to boil while we prepare the rest of the ingredients.
After preparing our ingredients, put everything in the pot except the noodles and add enough water to cover the chicken.
Cover the pot and let them simmer (cooker for 20-25 minutes).
When the meat is ready, remove it from the pot and put it in a pan with its juice, if it needs more juice, add hot water.
Add the noodles.
Place the tray in a preheated oven at 230-240°C for 10-15 minutes until the noodles are also cooked.
If your food is a bit watery, leave it in the oven and it will drink its juice.
A few more secrets
- The wine of Nemea is produced from a traditional Greek grape variety, the well-known "Agiorgitiko", which is famous all over the world. Many studies to date have shown that red wine, unlike other wines and alcoholic beverages, has beneficial effects on the heart.
- We can also use whole grain noodles for even healthier food, with fewer calories and rich in fiber.
- If we want to add a more exotic taste, we can also use noodles with flavors, e.g. noodles with pepper and thus you will have a traditional food with the benefits of Florinis pepper.
